WORKOUTS/CLASSES

OK, so who likes to exercise?

I don't think too many people will raise their hands. There are millions of excuses why we don't exercise.  I think I used them all. Now, I cannot emphasize enough that we need to MOVE our body.

I had to incorporate some movement when I made the decision to start my weight loss and health journey. Gyms were not unfamiliar to me, but I always had an excuse NOT to go.

I found a gym four blocks away from my house so I really didn't have an excuse not to go.  I started slow -- Just walking 15 minutes on the treadmill used to take my breath away.

I must confess that realizing how "out of shape" I was, made me want to quit before I even started, but I stayed in the game.
Patience---Rome was not build in a day.  I did whatever I could, and little by little I challenged myself to do a little more.  When I least expected it, I was walking 30 minutes.
Consistency - don't give up just because you might have a bad day or because you don't see results fast enough. Don't let bad days dictate your tomorrows. Don't get discourage!!!

The body needs a chance to accept the change.  I started doing my walks 3 times a week and as time went by I added more days.

Now, I workout 4-5 days at week, I train with my trainer once a week,  plus I teach several fitness classes a week. It has become part of my routine almost like taking a shower or brushing my teeth.  After awhile, believe it or not, you will want to do it.

Make small changes like going up the stairs instead of taking the elevator, park you car as far as you can when you go to the mall or supermarket.   Remember, small changes make big differences.

Find support and exercise with a friend or group.  Make it a date. It will help you keep accountable.  Make it fun. I will assure you - you will get back what you put in.
